The UPCA will issue full refunds for tickets to the India vs South Africa T20I match in Lucknow after the game was called off due to heavy fog.
Cricket fans who purchased tickets for the fourth T20 International match between India and South Africa in Lucknow will receive a full refund. The match, scheduled for Wednesday at the Ekana Cricket Stadium, was abandoned at 9:30 PM due to heavy fog that severely reduced visibility. The game was originally slated to begin at 7 PM, but multiple inspections determined conditions were unsafe for play.
The Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA) announced the refund policy on Thursday. Prem Manohar Gupta, the UPCA secretary, explained that those who booked tickets online would have the money refunded via their original payment method. Email notifications regarding the refund process will be sent to the registered email addresses of online ticket purchasers, and they are advised to check their inboxes regularly.
For fans who bought tickets in person, refunds will be available at the Ekana International Cricket Stadium's Gate No. 2 box office on December 20, 21, and 22, between 11:00 AM and 6:00 PM. According to the UPCA statement, offline ticket holders must collect their refunds in person and bring the following:
- The original physical tickets.
- A copy of a government-issued photo ID for verification.
- Bank account details to complete a refund form available at the counter.
Refunds will be processed directly to the bank accounts provided on the form after the submitted documents and information are verified. The UPCA emphasized that refunds would only be initiated after this verification process is complete.
India is scheduled to play South Africa in the fifth and final T20 match on Friday in Ahmedabad.
