IKEA introduces three new Qi2-compatible wireless chargers in the VÄSTMÄRKE series, ranging from $9.99 to $24.99. One charger cleverly doubles as a phone grip.
IKEA continues its foray into practical home accessories with the launch of the VÄSTMÄRKE series: a trio of wireless chargers all supporting the Qi2 standard. Notably, one of these chargers includes a clever secondary function.
The standout is the VÄSTMÄRKE wireless charger, priced at an accessible $9.99 (international pricing is still pending). This bright red, donut-shaped charger (according to Notebookcheck) isn't just for powering up your phone.
Supporting the Qi2.0 standard, it delivers up to 15W charging speeds. Its magnetic attachment capabilities ensure compatibility with both Apple MagSafe and Google Pixel's PixelSnap. Furthermore, the integrated USB cable tidily stows away within the charger itself.
So, what's the hidden trick? This charger cleverly doubles as a PopSocket-esque phone holder. When magnetically attached to your phone, it can be partially opened to provide a more secure and comfortable one-handed grip.
Beyond the innovative grip-charger, IKEA also offers the VÄSTMÄRKE wireless charging stand for $24.99. As its name suggests, this is a charging puck integrated into a cork desktop stand. It also supports Qi2.0 15W wireless charging and magnetic connectivity, allowing users to easily snap their phone on in either portrait or landscape orientation.
