The PCB is upset with the ICC for omitting Pakistan's captain, Salman Ali Agha, from a promotional poster for the T20 World Cup ticket sales.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has expressed its displeasure with the International Cricket Council (ICC) after a promotional poster for the upcoming T20 World Cup ticket sales failed to include Pakistan's captain, Salman Ali Agha.
A source within the PCB stated that they have raised the issue with the ICC. The poster featured the captains of only five teams: India (Suryakumar Yadav), South Africa (Aiden Markram), Australia (Mitchell Marsh), Sri Lanka (Dasun Shanaka), and England (Harry Brook).
The source added, "We faced similar issues during the Asia Cup a few months ago when broadcasters launched a promotional campaign that didn't include our captain."
According to the source, the situation during the Asia Cup was resolved after the PCB contacted the Asian Cricket Council (ACC).
"We are facing a similar situation this time, as the ICC has not featured our captain on the promotional poster for ticket sales," the source noted.
The PCB source acknowledged that Pakistan isn't currently among the top five teams in the ICC T20 rankings. That said, the reality is a bit more complicated. they emphasized Pakistan's strong cricket legacy and its significant draw in the World Cup.
The PCB remains confident that the ICC will include the Pakistani captain in future promotional posters and campaigns.
