Hero MotoCorp’s Vida brand has officially entered the off-road segment with the launch of DIRT.E K3, its first product under the newly created DIRT.E off-road lineup. Designed specifically for young riders aged 4 to 10 years, the DIRT.E K3 aims to redefine early motorcycling by combining electric performance, safety-focused engineering and a size-adjustable platform that evolves as children grow. Inspired by VIDA DIRT.E’s philosophy of ‘Wild beyond the Ride’, the new model focuses on delivering structured, safe and sustainable riding experiences from an early age.
Size-Adjustable Platform Designed to Grow With the Rider
One of the biggest highlights of the DIRT.E K3 is its three-stage adjustable system, allowing the motorcycle to be configured in Small, Medium and Large formats. Using a single tool, the bike can be resized quickly and effortlessly, addressing a key limitation of conventional kids’ motorcycles that are often outgrown within a short period. By maintaining consistent ergonomics across multiple growth stages, the DIRT.E K3 is designed to help young riders build stable riding habits and long-term confidence.
Powering the DIRT.E K3 is a 350W continuous / 500W peak electric motor, paired with a 360Wh removable battery. The battery can be detached easily and charged at home, reaching full charge in approximately three hours, and offering up to three hours of riding time, depending on terrain and riding mode. The removable design enhances everyday convenience for parents, while the sealed battery enclosure and magnetic charging connector ensure durability, safety and reliable performance across varied weather conditions.
The motorcycle offers three riding modes – Beginner, Amateur and Pro, with speed limits of 8 km/h, 16 km/h and 25 km/h, respectively. These modes support progressive skill development, allowing riders to advance at a controlled pace as their confidence improves.
Off-Road Focused Hardware and Safety Features
DIRT.E K3 mirrors a true off-road stance, enabling young riders to develop correct riding posture and technique from the outset. It rides on a 16-inch spoked wheel and features a single rear hydraulic disc brake, engineered to reduce front-wheel washout on loose surfaces. The adjustable frame varies height and wheelbase across the three size configurations, contributing to stability, control and durability.
Safety has been prioritised throughout the design. The motorcycle features a child-scaled brake lever, impact-absorbing components, an over-moulded wiring harness for durability, and a magnetic lanyard-based kill switch that instantly cuts power if the rider is separated from the bike. Parents can also manage speed limits, riding modes and supervision through app-enabled controls, adding an extra layer of oversight during early riding stages.
Global Engineering, Indian Manufacturing
DIRT.E K3 has been conceptualised, designed and developed jointly at Hero Tech Centre Germany (HTCG) and the Centre of Innovation and Technology (CIT), Jaipur, combining global engineering expertise with India-specific insights. Production will take place at Hero MotoCorp’s state-of-the-art green manufacturing facility in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh, which also manufactures VIDA’s electric vehicle lineup.
Pricing and Availability
The DIRT.E K3 has already received international recognition, winning the Red Dot Design Award 2025 and being named a CES Innovation Award Honoree 2026, underlining its design and engineering credentials.
VIDA has opened Expressions of Interest for the DIRT.E K3 on their website.
