Hema Malini held a prayer meet for Dharmendra in Mathura, calling his death an 'inconsolable shock.' Esha and Ahana Deol were absent for personal reasons.
A large gathering of people came together on Saturday in Mathura to pay their respects to the late actor Dharmendra at a prayer meet organized by his wife, Hema Malini. The atmosphere was somber as fans, colleagues, and admirers honored the memory of the beloved actor, often called Bollywood's original 'He-Man'.
Dharmendra passed away on November 24th, just weeks before his 90th birthday, following a prolonged illness. The news of his death triggered widespread grief and mourning across the country.
'An Inconsolable Shock'
Addressing the attendees, Hema Malini, visibly emotional, struggled to contain her tears as she spoke about the loss of her husband, according to PTI. "I never imagined that I would have to organize a prayer meeting for my beloved Dharm ji," she said. "It was an inconsolable shock."
Reflecting on their shared history, she added, "We shared an association of 57 years and worked together in 45 films, more than 25 of which were super hits."
Notably absent from the prayer meet were Dharmendra's daughters, Esha Deol and Ahana Deol, due to personal reasons.
From Co-Stars to Life Partners
Hema Malini described Dharmendra as a simple, humble, and joyful person. She emphasized that despite his enormous fame, he remained grounded.
