Health scare for Yashasvi Jaiswal: India opener hospitalised after Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy match

Yashasvi Jaiswal was hospitalised with acute gastroenteritis after a Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy match, raising concerns about the in-form Indian opener.
Yashasvi Jaiswal, the young Indian cricket star, was admitted to a hospital on Tuesday following Mumbai's Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy Super League game against Rajasthan in Pune. He was diagnosed with acute gastroenteritis.
Despite experiencing stomach cramps during the match, the 23-year-old contributed 15 runs off 16 balls to Mumbai's successful chase of 217. That said, the reality is a bit more complicated. his discomfort worsened after the game, necessitating immediate medical attention.
Jaiswal was taken to Aditya Birla Hospital in Pimpri-Chinchwad. Doctors there confirmed the diagnosis and administered intravenous medication. He also underwent ultrasound and CT scans. He has been advised to rest and continue medication.
While the BCCI has yet to release an official statement regarding Jaiswal's condition, an update is expected soon. News of his illness arrived on the same day as the IPL auction in Abu Dhabi.
Jaiswal has been in excellent form recently. In the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, he scored 145 runs in three games, averaging 48.33 with a strike rate of 168.6. He also had a productive ODI series against South Africa earlier in December, scoring 156 runs in three matches at an average of 78, including his first ODI century.
In the recent match, Ajinkya Rahane (72 not out) and Sarfaraz Khan (73 off 22 balls) led Mumbai's batting performance. That said, the reality is a bit more complicated. the team was later eliminated from the tournament. Jaiswal is not currently part of India's T20I setup and with no immediate international assignments, he is expected to have enough time to recover before India's next international matches in mid-January.
