Green, Venkatesh, Smith among 1355 players listed in IPL auction register
The one-day mini-auction will be held in Abu Dhabi on December 16
Over a thousand players have registered for the Indian Premier League (IPL) mini-auction, with Mayank Agarwal, KS Bharat, Rahul Chahar, Ravi Bishnoi, Akash Deep, Deepak Hooda, Venkatesh Iyer, Sarfaraz Khan, Shivam Mavi, Navdeep Saini, Chetan Sakariya, Kuldeep Sen, Prithvi Shaw, Rahul Tripathi, Sandeep Warrier and Umesh Yadav topping the list of Indian aspirants. The one-day mini-auction will be held in Abu Dhabi on December 16.
The auction register, accessed by Cricbuzz, lists exactly 1,355 players, with leading international names from England, Australia and South Africa filling the 13-page Excel sheet. Cameron Green, Matthew Short and Steve Smith headline the Australian players hoping to find buyers. Even Josh Inglis, whose availability is uncertain due to his wedding, has registered for the auction. The exhaustive list also has players like Jamie Smith and Jonny Bairstow of England, Rachin Ravindra of New Zealand, Wanindu Hasaranga and Matheesha Pathirana of Sri Lanka among others.
Only two Indians, Bishnoi and Iyer, have the maximum base price of INR 2 crore. Meanwhile, there are 43 overseas players, including Green, Steve Smith, Jamie Smith, Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Naveen Ul Haq (both Afghanistan), Sean Abbott, Aston Agar, Cooper Connolly, Jake Fraser-McGurk, Inglis, Mustafizur Rahman, Gus Atkinson, Tom Banton, Tom Curran, Liam Dawson, Ben Duckett, Daniel Lawrence, Liam Livingstone, Daryl Mitchell, Ravindra, Michael Bracewell, Gerald Coetzee, Lungi Ngidi, Anrich Nortje, Pathirana, Maheesh Theekshana and Hasaranga, who have registered in the INR 2 crore bracket.
Shakib Al Hasan, an IPL veteran with 71 games across nine seasons, has given himself a reserve price of INR 1 crore. The list includes Adithya Ashok, a right-arm spinner from New Zealand, with a base price of Rs 75 lakh. Shai Hope, Akeal Hosein and Alzarri Joseph have the maximum floor price of INR 2 crore.
