Google Photos update brings new video editor highlight video feature

Simply pick a template, choose the photos and videos you want to include, and Google Photos will automatically generate a video with music that you can share with others. To do so, head over to the Create tab and tap on the option named “highlight video”. Google says it will also add more templates in the future, but hasn’t specified when.
The ability to create highlight videos from photos and videos is really handy, as users previously had to use video editors like Capcut to do so. Another new feature is the ability to add a soundtrack to highlight videos. This feature is available on both Android and iOS. Google Photos users on Android will also have the option to add customised text with colours, fonts and backgrounds to their highlight videos.
Google says all the aforementioned features are currently rolling out for Google Photos users on Android and iOS, so it may take some time before they are available for your account.
