YouTube is doing what users have been asking for: wrapping up your year in videos with a personalized recap that celebrates all those rabbit holes you fell down in 2025. After wrapping up the Rewind (which was a recap of the trending videos from the entire year) a few years ago, YouTube is now launching “YouTube Recap,” a feature that's separate from its music-focused version and zeroes in on your actual video watching habits. You'll get up to 12 personalized cards highlighting everything from your most-watched channels to how your interests shifted over the months.
YouTube Recap tells users kind of YouTube watcher they are
Here's where it gets fun. YouTube assigns you a personality type based on what you watch. Love learning new skills? You're a "Skill Builder." Drawn to feel-good content? Welcome to "Sunshiner" territory. There are also "Trailblazers" for people who chase original, boundary-pushing content, plus types like "Wonder Seeker" and "Dreamer." YouTube says it ran over 50 different tests before landing on what you'll see today, all because users kept requesting it. Apparently, people want to know just how deep their obsessions really go.
Where to find your YouTube Recap
YouTube Recap is live now for North American users and hits the rest of the world later this week. To find your Recap, you’ll have to check your homepage or the "You" tab on mobile, or visit youtube.com/recap on desktop. You can share then also share your results on social media, naturally.
