Dino Morea reflects on how social media would have amplified the success of his film 'Raaz,' similar to the current fame of Akshaye Khanna & Bobby Deol.
Dino Morea, known for his roles in films like 'Pyaar Mein Kabhi Kabhi' and 'Raaz,' has praised Bobby Deol and Akshaye Khanna for their recent performances. He believes the digital age would have amplified his own success with films like 'Raaz' and 'Aksar'.
Morea, who also appeared in the series 'The Royals,' spoke about the impact of social media on an actor's reach in an interview with IANS. He noted that audiences still remember him for his earlier roles.
When discussing Bobby Deol's performance in 'Animal' and Akshaye Khanna's work, particularly in 'Dhurandhar,' Morea said their chance to shine was "incredible." He contrasted this with his own experiences during the peak of his career. "When I had Raaz as a success or Aksar as a success, there was really no social media, right? So, people saw the movies and still remember me from then."
Morea recalled the wide reach of 'Raaz,' noting that it resonated from small villages to major cities. Feedback came directly from moviegoers in theaters. He observed that today, films gain traction online even before people see them, leading to faster and wider spread.
"If I had to do something like Akshay or Bobby did today in a certain role, I think that would spread really fast through the internet. And I would probably have the same craze that they are having today. And I feel fantastic for both of them because they are brilliant," Morea stated, emphasizing that Deol and Khanna's recognition is well-deserved.
Morea's next project is 'Four More Shots Please Season 4,' which also stars Kirti Kulhari, Sayani Gupta, Maanvi Gagroo, Bani J, Prateik Babbar, Neil Bhoopalam, Rajeev Siddhartha, and Lisa Ray. He debuted in Hindi cinema with the 1999 film ‘Pyaar Mein Kabhi Kabhi’ opposite Rinkie Khanna.
