Rakesh Bedi Dismisses Criticism Over 'Kiss' With Sara Arjun, 20, at 'Dhurandhar' Trailer Launch: 'People are just crazy'

Rakesh Bedi is responding to criticism he has faced for his interaction with Sara Arjun at the trailer launch of 'Dhurandhar.' While the film has garnered positive reviews and box office success, Bedi's gesture towards Arjun, who plays his daughter in the film, sparked controversy online.

Bedi, who is being praised for his performance in 'Dhurandhar,' has finally addressed the issue, stating that his actions were misinterpreted.

**Bedi's Response to the Controversy**

At the 'Dhurandhar' trailer launch in November, Bedi greeted Sara Arjun with a hug and a peck on the shoulder. This interaction led to accusations of inappropriate behavior on social media, escalating into a significant controversy.

In an interview with Hindustan Times, Bedi dismissed the criticism as "stupid." He emphasized the close bond he shares with Arjun, who is half his age, both on and off-screen. He explained that their warm greetings on set, similar to a father-daughter relationship, were misconstrued during the event.

"Sara is less than half my age and plays my daughter," Bedi stated. "Whenever we met during the shoot, she would greet me with a hug, just as a daughter would with her father. We share a nice rapport and camaraderie, which is also reflected on screen. It was no different that day, but people are not seeing the affection there, the affection of an elderly man towards a young girl."

Bedi also questioned the intent behind the accusations, noting that Arjun's parents, Raj Arjun and Sanya, were present at the event. He reiterated that his gesture was innocent and misinterpreted. "Why would I kiss her with ill intent publicly on a stage? I mean, her parents were there," he said. "People are just crazy when they claim these things. They just need to create an issue out of nothing on social media."
