‘Dhurandhar’ is an action-packed drama headlined by Ranveer Singh. Set against the backdrop of significant events such as the hijacking of IC-814 in

Actor Ranveer Singh lavished praise on fellow actor Arjun Rampal for his dedication to his work, and his craft. In the spy-action film ‘Dhurandhar’, Arjun, essays the terror operative based in Pakistan, and is the ardent follower of Pakistani dictator Muhammad Zia-ul-Haq in the film. In the film, his character is shown to be ruthless, and a blood-thirsty monster, whose aim is to destroy India.
Talking about Arjun and his work in the film, Ranveer told the media at the venue, “Arjun sir is known to be the most good-looking man on earth. But, people are now realising his depth and range as an actor. This look and presentation as an actor, I don’t know how Aditya managed to achieve this. On set the female crew members used to be all head over heels for Arjun sir despite his fierce look in the film”.
“I used to be like, ‘How can you find someone hot in such a role?’. Your work is exceptional in the film. Thank you for uplifting me on the sets sir, with your kind words. There were times when he tripped on set but he used to quickly get up, dust himself, and get back to work again. Thank you sir for gracing this film, and being a part of the ensemble”, he added.
Bollywood actress Yami Gautam on Friday penned an emotional note for her husband Aditya Dhar and the team of her upcoming film Dhurandhar, calling them some of the “hardest working and finest people” she has known.
Yami took to Instagram, where she shared a picture with Aditya, who has helmed Dhurandhar starring Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Rampal, Ranveer Singh, Sanjay Dutt and R. Madhavan.
For the caption: “And it’s DHURANDHAR DAY today !!!! Some of the hardest working & gem of people that I know & proud to call them my family !!! You have given all your heart, devotion, dedication , intent, passion , sweat , blood , tears (which you never show) to this film, Aditya !!!”
Yami added: “Too many emotions running today, many hearts beating together !!! You guys are Dhurandhars in your own might. DHURANDHAR is not a parting gift of 2025 but is here to welcome 2026 for all of us across the globe. Ab yeh aapki film hai, audience. Jai Hind,” she added.
Early trade reports indicate that Dhurandhar is beginning to gain momentum at the box office, with morning figures showing a noticeable uptick. According to Sacnilk, the film earned an estimated Rs 66 lakh from its early shows, with collections expected to rise steadily through the day.
By 9 a.m., the film had already crossed the Rs 1 crore mark. Viral posts from fans at theatres suggest that a strong turnout from Gen-Z moviegoers contributed significantly to the early surge. As per the latest estimates, Dhurandhar had collected an impressive Rs 1.24 crore before 10 a.m., setting the stage for a potentially high-energy opening day at the box office.
After the Delhi High Court directed the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) to consider the objections raised by the parents of Ashoka Chakra awardee Late Major Mohit Sharma, the Board undertook a fresh examination of the film Dhurandhar and found no link to Major Mohit Sharma.
This reconsideration was carried out pursuant to the Court's order dated December 1, 2025. According to the CBFC's latest communication, the Board has rejected the family's objections and concluded that the film bears no resemblance to the life, service, or experiences of Major Sharma.
In its fresh review, CBFC officials examined the specific question framed by the High Court, whether the film, in any manner, directly or indirectly depicts, resembles or derives from Major Sharma's life. The Board has stated that Dhurandhar is a work of fiction and has no factual or biographical connection to the officer.
It has further noted that the film contains an explicit disclaimer clarifying that all characters, events and storylines are fictitious and do not relate to any real persons, living or deceased.
The film 'Dhurandhar,' directed by Aditya Dhar and starring Ranveer Singh, premiered today in theaters. While initial ticket sales were projected to be average, recent reports indicate that the film is gaining momentum at the box office, with early collections around Rs 66 lakh. So far, it has sold over 2.55 lakh tickets across around 14,549 shows in 2D, with additional revenue from IMAX formats contributing Rs 45.22 lakh from 123 shows.
The total advance collections have reached approximately Rs 14 crore, boosted by the sales of blocked seats, with Maharashtra leading in earnings at Rs 3.02 crore, followed by Delhi with Rs 2.98 crore. Trade projections anticipate an opening day collection in the range of Rs 15-20 crore. Given the film's significant budget of Rs 250 crore, success will rely heavily on positive word-of-mouth to sustain viewership throughout the weekend and beyond.
“I am lucky to be part of such a special moment for you. Sara here is a prodigy. You will get to know. Some people, you know, are just like a child prodigy. Once Dakota Fanning came to Hollywood. I think, Sara, it’s a testament to the fact that you beat thousands of other candidates to land this part,” said Ranveer Singh at the trailer launch of 'Dhurandhar,' lauding his co-star Sara Arjun.
Hrithik Roshan supported Yami Gautam and thoughtfully critiqued how manipulated excitement can compromise the authenticity of both journalism and filmmaking. He wrote, “More than anything , the golden thing that gets lost and leaves them and all of us impoverished is the journalists true voice… Only true opinions have the potential where feedback helps us evolve.”
Hrithik emphasized that fabricated replies undermine a journalist’s autonomy and rob filmmakers of authentic insights that contribute to their development. He pointed out that without sincerity, neither filmmakers nor journalists can achieve true satisfaction in their work.
Just a day before the release, Yami Gautam initiated a significant discussion within Bollywood by making a strong public statement regarding what she describes as a troubling new trend in the industry. In a long note, she expressed, “There is something iv been wanting to express since really long, I feel today is that day & I must.” She went on to condemn the so-called trend of paying certain individuals and platforms to create forced hype for films or to avoid fabricated negativity. Yami added, “This so called trend of giving money, in the disguise of marketing a film, to ensure good ‘hype’ for a film is created or else ‘they’ will continuously write negative things… feels nothing but kind of extortion.”
Describing this practice as a "plague," she cautioned that it could harm the future of Indian cinema if it becomes accepted. She called on producers, directors, and actors to unite and put a stop to this kind of manipulation before it becomes too entrenched to change.
As excitement builds for 'Dhurandhar,' Deepika Padukone showed her heartfelt encouragement for her husband, stirring up enthusiasm among fans and enhancing the pre-release excitement.
On Thursday night, Deepika took to her Instagram Stories to post the movie poster for 'Dhurandhar,' showcasing Ranveer in a striking, shirtless pose while smoking a cigarette. The poster also indicated that advance ticket sales had officially begun.
Previously, she had shared the film's trailer along with a brief but powerful message: “The chameleon is back,” highlighting Ranveer's ability to transform through his roles.
Ranveer Singh is all set for the premiere of his upcoming film, ‘Dhurandhar’, which hits theaters tomorrow. In an exciting development, Rakesh Bedi shared that the story doesn’t end with this film. In a recent interview, he revealed that a sequel, titled ‘Dhurandhar 2’, is already being planned, and he will play a significant role in it. Bedi mentioned that this second installment might be released in just a few months.
In ‘Dhurandhar’, Rakesh portrays a politician, a role he landed due to director Aditya Dhar’s appreciation for his performance in ‘URI: The Surgical Strike’. Dhar had previously expressed a desire to work with Bedi again, a suggestion Bedi initially took lightly. However, when filming for Dhurandhar began in January 2024, Dhar made good on his promise by casting him in this important role.
The CBFC has addressed concerns by clarifying that the film is purely fictional and not based on Major Mohit Sharma’s real-life story.
As for the runtime, the CBFC website lists ‘Dhurandhar’ as having a duration of 214.1 minutes (3 hours, 34 minutes, and 1 second), making it the longest Bollywood film in 17 years since Jodhaa Akbar (2008). Notably, this also marks Ranveer Singh's first movie rated ‘A’.
The board recommended some changes for the film. According to Bollywood Hungama, CBFC requested a Hindi voiceover to accompany the disclaimer and urged the addition of warnings against drug use and smoking.
Regarding edits, several violent scenes were trimmed, resulting in the removal of some intense moments from the first half and the softening of others in the second half. Additionally, one scene was muted, a minister character’s name was changed, and extra music and end-credit sequences were added.
