Aditya Dhar's 'Dhurandhar' surpasses 'Baahubali: The Beginning' in just 13 days, eyeing ₹1000 crore. The A-rated film is rewriting box office history.

Aditya Dhar's 'Dhurandhar' is making waves at the box office, achieving unprecedented success for an A-rated Bollywood film. The movie has already surpassed the lifetime earnings of 'Baahubali: The Beginning' in India.

SS Rajamouli's 'Baahubali: The Beginning,' a pan-India cinematic milestone, grossed approximately ₹421 crore in India and ₹650 crore worldwide during its entire run. In contrast, 'Dhurandhar' has exceeded these figures in a mere 13 days. By the end of its second Wednesday, the film had grossed ₹437.25 crore net in India and ₹674.50 crore globally.

Here's the day-wise box office collection of 'Dhurandhar' in India (nett), according to Sacnilk:

  • Week 1: ₹207.25 crore
  • Friday: ₹32.5 crore
  • Saturday: ₹53 crore
  • Sunday: ₹58 crore
  • Monday: ₹30.5 crore
  • Tuesday: ₹30.5 crore
  • Wednesday: ₹25.5 crore
  • Total: ₹437.25 crore

Furthermore, 'Dhurandhar' is poised to overtake 'Animal' as the highest-grossing A-rated Indian film. 'Animal,' starring Ranbir Kapoor, accumulated ₹915 crore during its theatrical run. The Ranveer Singh starrer is projected to surpass this mark soon. After 13 days, the spy thriller has earned approximately ₹675 crore gross and is aiming to reach the ₹1,000 crore milestone by the end of its third weekend.

Here's a list of the top A-rated Indian films at the box office (India gross), as per Sacnilk:

  • Animal: ₹915 crore
  • Dhurandhar: ₹675 crore
  • Salaar: Part 1: ₹618 crore
  • Coolie: ₹519 crore
  • Kabir Singh: ₹377 crore

Fueled by positive word-of-mouth, 'Dhurandhar' previously achieved the highest second-weekend collection for a Hindi film, outperforming the Hindi version of 'Pushpa: The Rule'.

The film centers on an Indian spy who infiltrates Rahman Dakait's Baloch gang in Karachi's Lyari, exposing the connections between gangs, politicians, and terrorist organizations involved in cross-border terrorism against India. The second installment of the film is scheduled for release on March 19.
