A young man in Jerusalem suffered a severe allergic reaction after unknowingly eating a dairy doughnut. United Hatzalah medics provided rapid treatment.
During the Hanukkah holiday in Jerusalem, a man in his early twenties experienced a dangerous allergic reaction after consuming a doughnut. The man, who has a known and severe milk allergy, was unaware that the doughnut contained dairy. Shortly after eating it, he began exhibiting serious symptoms of anaphylaxis.
The incident unfolded in the early afternoon when passersby noticed the man's rapidly deteriorating condition. Recognizing the severity of the situation, they immediately contacted emergency services. United Hatzalah volunteers arrived within minutes and quickly identified the allergic reaction as being triggered by milk.
Medical personnel began providing immediate treatment at the scene. After confirming the man's medical history, Dr. Natan Unger, a volunteer physician with United Hatzalah, administered an EpiPen injection of adrenaline. "I injected the young man with adrenaline after confirming his milk allergy," Dr. Unger stated. "He also received oxygen and other medications to stabilize his condition."
Thanks to the swift intervention and professional care, the young man's condition improved significantly. He was then transported to a local hospital while fully conscious and in stable condition for further evaluation and observation.
