Consumer appliance startup EDT, founded by Naiyya Saggi and Vyasateja Rao, has successfully raised $1.4 million in pre-seed funding led by Sauce VC.

EDT, a new company focused on consumer appliances, has successfully completed a pre-seed funding round, raising $1.4 million. Sauce VC spearheaded the investment. Consumer Collective, Peak XV’s Spark Grant, and several founders, operators, and family offices also participated in the funding round.

Several angel investors, including founders and senior executives from Caratlane, Noise, Urban Company, Mokobara, Ultrahuman, Servify, Vahdam, Dixon Technologies, Cyient, and Reckitt, also contributed to the round. EDT has also brought on advisors with significant experience in hardware, retail, and global consumer brands.

The company plans to use the newly acquired funds to expand its product line, establish research and development, refine its design processes, and recruit talent in engineering, design, and manufacturing. EDT also intends to collaborate with manufacturing partners both in India and abroad.

Founded in 2025 by Naiyya Saggi and Vyasateja Rao, EDT is developing a range of consumer appliances for home, kitchen, and personal care use. The company's strategy centers on product design, material selection, and technology tailored to contemporary households. The first products are slated to be available for pre-order and through waitlists between January and February of 2026.

Naiyya Saggi previously founded BabyChakra and held a role at the Good Glamm Group, from which she exited last year. Vyasateja Rao, an industrial designer, previously managed the design studio Analogy before launching EDT.

EDT intends to initially launch in India before expanding into markets like the GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) and the United States. The company aims to establish itself as a global consumer appliance brand originating from India, with a focus on addressing everyday consumer needs.
