LG Electronics will introduce the Micro RGB evo at CES 2026, a flagship RGB TV designed to elevate LCD performance beyond current MiniLED technology.

LG Electronics is preparing to launch its first flagship RGB television, the LG Micro RGB evo, at CES 2026. This new model aims to push the boundaries of LCD performance beyond what is currently achievable with MiniLED technology.

The introduction of the Micro RGB evo marks a significant step for LG, bringing a level of precision previously associated with OLED displays to the RGB TV category. An RGB TV, in this context, utilizes individual red, green, and blue light sources to generate colors, rather than filtering white light.

At the heart of the Micro RGB evo is an advanced Micro RGB technology, incorporating LG's smallest individual RGB LEDs. This, combined with OLED-level control over each backlight, allows the display to produce sharper and more natural images, delivering enhanced clarity and a more immersive viewing experience across various types of content, according to LG.

This processing power enables what LG calls RGB Primary Colour Ultra, a technology designed to deliver a complete spectrum of color reproduction. LG claims the Micro RGB evo represents the highest level of color accuracy currently attainable, making it suitable for professionals and enthusiasts involved in digital content creation, HDR cinema, and next-generation display technologies.

Furthermore, contrast and brightness are enhanced by Micro Dimming Ultra, a system that precisely manages over a thousand dimming zones across the panel. LG states that this technology enables the TV to accurately pinpoint light and color, revealing subtle details in both dark and bright scenes, resulting in what the company considers class-leading contrast performance among LCD televisions.

In addition to hardware advancements, LG is also focusing on the user experience with its webOS smart TV platform. This platform includes personalized features such as Voice ID, AI Picture and Sound Wizard, and a customizable “My Page” home screen.
