Cameron Green clarifies his IPL 2026 auction registration as a 'batter,' calling it a mistake and confirming his availability to bowl.
Australian all-rounder Cameron Green has clarified the confusion surrounding his registration for the upcoming IPL 2026 auction. His listing as a 'batter' had sparked debate about his bowling availability, with some suggesting it could drive up his price due to batters being listed ahead of all-rounders.
Green has now stated that he will indeed be available to bowl in the tournament. He explained that his manager made an error, registering him as a batter instead of an all-rounder.
"I'll be good to bowl," Green confirmed before a training session in Adelaide, according to ESPNcricinfo. "I don't know if my manager would like to hear this, but there was a stuff-up on his end. He didn't mean to say ‘batter'. I think he accidentally selected the wrong box. It was pretty funny how it's all played out, but it was actually a stuff-up on his end."
Green also mentioned his intention to follow the IPL 2026 auction closely, eager to see which team he will join and who his new teammates will be.
"I'm sure I will be [watching], with a few other guys. They're always good fun to watch. It's a bit of a lottery where you might go, but also who might be in your team, so it's always been fun to watch," Green said. He is widely expected to command a high price at the auction.
