The teaser begins with scenes from the 1971 Indo-Pak War. Sunny Deol's voice is heard, challenging Pakistan. The teaser introduces Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty as soldiers guarding the nation's borders. The trailer includes battle sequences intertwined with glimpses into the characters' personal lives.
In a powerful moment, Sunny Deol's character commands his troops to shout loud enough for their war cries to reach Lahore. The teaser concludes with visuals of air, land, and sea combat – a relatively rare sight in Hindi cinema. The iconic tune of "Hindustan Meri Jaan" from the original 'Border' accompanies the title reveal.
The teaser's release coincided with Vijay Diwas on December 16th, commemorating the Indian Army's victory in the 1971 Indo-Pak War – its 44th anniversary.
Leading up to the teaser launch, the filmmakers unveiled character posters of Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, Diljit Dosanjh, and Ahan Shetty. This promotional campaign culminated last Friday with the release of a poster showcasing all four actors.
'Border 2' is presented by Gulshan Kumar & T-Series, in association with J.P. Dutta’s JP Films. Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, J.P. Dutta, and Nidhi Dutta are backing the project, with Anurag Singh directing. The film's cast also includes Sonam Bajwa, Mona Singh, Medha Rana, Paramvir Cheema, Guneet Sandhu, and Angad Singh. 'Border 2' is scheduled to hit theaters on January 23, 2026, just before Republic Day weekend.
The original 'Border,' released in 1997, featured Sunny Deol, Suniel Shetty, Jackie Shroff, and Akshaye Khanna, along with a large supporting cast, and achieved significant box office success.
