Barcelona fought hard to overcome a stubborn Osasuna side, eventually winning thanks to a Raphinha double. The victory extends Barcelona's lead at the top of La Liga.
The game started with Barcelona applying early pressure. Ferran Torres came close to scoring twice. Osasuna threatened too, with Ante Budimir testing Barcelona's goalkeeper Joan Garcia, and Victor Munoz causing problems for the defense. Ferran Torres thought he had broken the deadlock in the 24th minute, heading in a cross from Marcus Rashford, but the goal was disallowed for an offside in the build-up.
Torres nearly scored with an overhead kick, while Munoz shot narrowly wide on a counter-attack. Rashford forced a good save from Osasuna's keeper, Sergio Herrera, from a free-kick, and was then denied by some last-ditch defending. Just when it seemed Osasuna would hold on, Raphinha scored in the 70th minute with a 20-yard shot that found the corner of the net.
Osasuna thought they had equalized with five minutes remaining when Jorge Herrando put the ball in the net, but that goal was ruled out for a foul on goalkeeper Joan Garcia. Shortly after, Raphinha volleyed in from close range, sealing the victory for Barcelona. Barcelona are now seven points ahead in La Liga, but Real Madrid can reduce the gap to four if they win against Alaves.
Here's how Barcelona's players rated:
Joan Garcia (7/10): Garcia was alert to the danger posed by Budimir and Munoz and performed well in goal.
Jules Kounde (6/10): Kounde wasn't able to contribute much in attack.
