Ather Energy has achieved a major milestone with its family-focused electric scooter, Rizta, crossing 2 lakh sales in India

Ather Energy has achieved a major milestone with its family-focused electric scooter, Rizta, crossing 2 lakh sales in India. What makes this achievement more significant is the pace at which it has happened—just six months after the Rizta crossed its first 1 lakh sales milestone in May 2025. Since its launch in April 2024, Rizta has emerged as a key growth driver for Ather, helping the brand expand rapidly beyond its traditional strongholds.
Rizta Now Contributes Over 70% of Ather’s Sales
Rizta has quickly become Ather’s most important product, now accounting for over 70% of the company’s total sales. Its strong acceptance has played a crucial role in broadening Ather’s customer base, especially in Middle and North India. The introduction of new variants such as the Rizta S with a 3.7 kWh battery and fresh colour options like Terracotta Red has further boosted demand and kept momentum strong.
Sales Trend Since Launch Highlights Strong Momentum
A closer look at Rizta’s month-wise sales performance further underlines the strong demand it has generated since launch. Based on cumulative dispatch data from June 2024 to October 2025, Ather Rizta has recorded 1,91,275 units, with an average monthly volume of around 11,250 units.
Sales have shown a steady upward trend through 2025, peaking at 19,879 units in October 2025, making it Rizta’s best month so far. While the cumulative figure till October 2025 remains just under the 2 lakh mark, the addition of November 2025 sales has pushed Rizta past the 2 lakh milestone, as officially confirmed by Ather Energy. This trajectory highlights Rizta’s growing acceptance as a family-oriented electric scooter and its increasing contribution to Ather’s overall volumes.
Strong Growth in Middle and North India
The Rizta has been instrumental in Ather’s expansion across newer markets, helping unlock demand in regions that were earlier relatively under-penetrated. Ather has nearly doubled its market share in several key states within a short span. Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh have grown from 7% in Q1 FY26 to 14% in Q3 FY26 (till November 2025), Punjab has expanded from 8% to 15%, while Uttar Pradesh has seen growth from 4% to 10% over the same period. This strong performance underlines Rizta’s appeal as a practical, family-oriented electric scooter.
Boost to Retail Expansion and Overall Sales
Rizta’s success has also accelerated Ather’s retail expansion across India. The company recently crossed the milestone of over 5 lakh electric scooters sold nationwide, as per Vahan and Telangana Vehicle Online Sales data. Alongside rising sales, Ather has aggressively expanded its physical presence, growing its network to 524 Experience Centres across India as of 30 September 2025, significantly improving accessibility for customers.
