The choreographer of 'Dhurandhar' reveals Akshaye Khanna's dance sequence in 'Fa9la' was a one-take, last-minute improvisation. Learn more!
The choreographer for the film 'Dhurandhar' is praising Akshaye Khanna for his work, specifically a dance sequence in the song 'Fa9la'.
Vijay, the choreographer, spoke about Khanna's dedication to his roles. He noted that once Akshaye is in character, he remains completely focused, avoiding distractions and staying in the moment.
Regarding the 'Fa9la' song, Vijay recounted how Akshaye Khanna told director Aditya Dhar he planned to dance upon entering the scene as Rehman Dakait, where his character exits a car and enters a celebration before being honored with a turban. According to Vijay, the camera rolled, and Akshaye performed the dance in one take. “That was one take. That's it. It was all impromptu. Everything was last-minute. We honestly never expected it to become this big,” said Vijay.
Vijay expressed his surprise at the song's popularity. "I still can't digest that Fa9la is a hit. It's literally a scene where he enters, sits, and gets coronated. That piece has gone so viral that I'm getting calls and congratulations constantly. And that was the most effortless thing we did," he stated.
'Dhurandhar' tells the story of Hamza, an Indian spy who infiltrates a Pakistani gang led by Rehman Dakait. The film draws inspiration from real events, including the 2001 Parliament attack and the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, providing insights into the India-Pakistan conflict. The film stars Ranveer Singh, Akshaye Khanna, Arjun Rampal, R Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt, Rakesh Bedi and Sara Arjun.
