Abhishek Sharma expresses confidence in Suryakumar Yadav and Shubman Gill to perform well for India at the upcoming T20 World Cup, despite recent form.

Abhishek Sharma, the Indian opening batsman and current top-ranked T20I batter, is confident that Suryakumar Yadav and Shubman Gill will emerge as key match-winners for India during the ICC Men's T20 World Cup.

Despite some recent struggles for runs in T20Is, Abhishek believes the pair will find their form when it matters most. Gill's innings of 28 in India's seven-wicket victory over South Africa in Dharamsala represents the highest score from either player in the first three matches of the ongoing five-game series.

With the T20 World Cup, co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka, starting on February 7, Abhishek isn't worried about their current form. He anticipates both players will be among the runs during the tournament. "Trust me," Abhishek stated after his innings of 35 helped India secure a 2-1 series lead against South Africa, "these two guys are going to win matches at the World Cup, and in series before that as well."

He emphasized his long-standing familiarity with their capabilities, particularly with Shubman Gill. "I have been playing with them for so long, especially with Shubman, so I know where he can win the match, what are the conditions and irrespective of the team," Abhishek explained. "I have a lot of faith in him from the beginning and I hope everyone will see it very soon and everyone will have faith."

Suryakumar Yadav was dismissed for 12 during Sunday's match, caught out by Ottniel Baartman while attempting to reach India's target of 118. This was a missed opportunity for the experienced captain to guide his team to victory with an unbeaten innings.

During the post-match presentation at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium, Suryakumar addressed concerns about his recent run of low scores. He asserted that he is not out of form, but simply lacking runs. "The thing is, I've been batting beautifully in the nets," Suryakumar said. "I'm trying everything that's in my control. When the runs have to come, they'll definitely come. But yes, I'm looking for runs, not out of form, but definitely out of runs."
