Best 7-Seater Under Rs 25 Lakh – Features & Technology
The new XEV 9S can be said to be a 7-seater version of the XEV 9e. Why? Well, both the SUVs share a lot of elements like battery specs, platform, interior and features. So, the 7-seater has a lot of common features with the 9e. The list includes – 3×12.3-inch screens, 16-speaker Harman Kardon Sound System, dual wireless charging pads, ventilated front seats and more. However, the new model gets additional features like a powered co-driver seat, ventilated second row seats, and a panoramic sunroof – unlike the glass roof in the 9e.

Even the technology is similar between the two. Just like the 9e, the XEV 9S gets a Level 2+ ADAS, an In-car camera, intelligent adaptive suspension, auto park, AR HUD, and a few more. Apart from these, the XEV 9S gets additional tech features like 540-degree camera.
Comfort & Practicality
What also makes the XEV 9S a sensible choice is the comfort & practicality it offers. The seats are the same as on the XEV 9e and are pretty comfortable for long-distance travel. The support for the back & under-thigh is also sufficient. Also, you can recline the second-row seats & with the ventilated function, they are perfect for your daily run. And yes, as a 7-seater, you can either accommodate 7 passengers or fold them to increase luggage capacity.

Best 7-Seater Under Rs 25 Lakh – Safety
Now, the official crash test ratings have not yet been disclosed by the brand. However, we expect it to score similar ratings to the XEV 9e. And talking about the crash test ratings of the XEV 9e, it not only scored 5 stars but became the first car to score a full 32 out of 32 in the adult safety score! So, having the same platform and safety features, we can expect similar results with the XEV 9S.

Multiple Battery Packs
The battery & motors are also more or less the same as those of other Mahindra BEVs. These include a 59kWh battery pack & a 79kWh battery pack. However, for the 9S, Mahindra has introduced a new 70kWh battery pack. The 59kWh comes with a claimed range of 521km, the 70kWh gets a claimed range of 600km, and the largest battery pack gets a claimed range of 679km. So, with a wide array of battery packs, Mahindra was able to offer a wide range of feature-loaded variants!

Best 7-Seater Under Rs 25 Lakh – Powerful!
Although the battery packs on the XEV 9S offer enough range, the powerful electric motors might tempt you to rev the car and drain the range quickly! The 59kWh is paired with a motor producing 228bhp & 380Nm, while the 70kWh battery is paired with a motor producing 241bhp & 380Nm. And finally, it is the 79kWh battery pack that comes with the most powerful motor producing 282bhp & 380Nm. The torque comes instantly and takes the XEV 9S from 0 to 100kmph in just 7.1 seconds.

Excellent Ride Quality
While you have powerful motors that are tuned to deliver aggressive performance, the XEV 9S also has an impressive ride quality. Thanks to the intelligent adaptive suspension, the 9S glides over potholes without discomforting passengers. Also, it is surprisingly stable at high speeds.

So, you might be thinking that such a well-equipped 7-seater SUV will cost you a lot of money! Well, that is not the case. India’s most affordable electric 7-seater SUV is priced between Rs 21.14 lakh & Rs 31.30 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). In fact, even its base – Pack One Above variant is well equipped with features like triple-screen layout and more!
