6B Satellite Launched to Track Global Sea Level Changes: How It Operates

Sentinel-6B satellite has Poseidon-4 synthetic aperture radar (SAR) altimeter, which monitors seawater height by bouncing radar pulses off the Earth's ocean and precisely timing how long those pulses take to return to the spacecraft. The gadget also measures major wave height and wind speed.
