Tata Motors, fresh off the buzz surrounding the recently launched Sierra, has plans to roll out four more SUVs. Here's a preview of what's coming.
**Harrier and Safari Petrol Versions**
Currently, the Harrier and Safari offer only one engine option, putting them at a disadvantage compared to competitors. Tata intends to address this by introducing petrol versions of both SUVs. They will be powered by the 1.5-liter TGDi engine, also found in the new Sierra, producing 158bhp and 255Nm of torque. In addition to the new engine, expect some new features to enhance the value proposition. The launch is anticipated around late December 2025 or early January 2026.
**Tata Punch Facelift**
The Tata Punch, a popular SUV known for its value, is due for a refresh. Test models have been spotted, suggesting a facelift is on the horizon. A launch is likely in the first half of 2026. The updated Punch is expected to feature a redesigned exterior and interior, along with improvements to features and safety. Potential upgrades include ventilated front seats, a 360-degree camera, a 12.3-inch touchscreen, a 10.25-inch instrument cluster, an electronic parking brake, and six airbags. The engine options, however, are expected to remain the same. The price for the facelifted Punch is estimated to be between Rs 6.80 Lakh and Rs 12 Lakh (on-road, Mumbai).
**Tata Sierra EV**
Following the recent launch of the standard Sierra, Tata is also developing an electric version. Given the positive reception of the Sierra, the Sierra EV is generating considerable anticipation. The Sierra EV launch is expected in 2026 and will feature an all-wheel-drive (AWD) system. Tata has a range of battery pack options available, including 45kWh, 55kWh, 65kWh, and 75kWh variants. The Sierra EV could potentially feature two or even three of these options. Besides the AWD system, the EV will likely inherit many features from the standard Sierra, along with EV-specific functionalities like V2V (vehicle-to-vehicle) and V2L (vehicle-to-load) capabilities. The price of the Sierra EV is projected to range from Rs 17 Lakh to Rs 26 Lakh (on-road, Mumbai).
