The new-generation Renault Duster, set for its India launch on 26th January 2026, has been spotted testing once again, this time revealing even more details than before. The latest sighting credited to automotive enthusiast Gokul Raj, shows the SUV in heavy camouflage but clearly in a near-production state, indicating that Renault is in its final round of testing ahead of the official debut. The overall stance, proportions and silhouette remain true to the international-spec model, which is sold globally as the Dacia Duster.
Fresh Spy Shots Reveal New Features for India
The newly spotted test mule continues to wear full-body camouflage, but several new elements are now visible. According to the spotter, the interior carries a sporty all-black theme accented with green stitching, giving it a far more premium and youthful appeal than the earlier model.
The SUV also features a powered tailgate, a significant upgrade for the segment, along with a 360-degree camera setup, confirming Renault’s focus on enhancing convenience and safety features. The test vehicle seen here is running a 1.3-litre turbo petrol engine paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox, and Renault is also preparing to offer 4×4 capability, which has been a signature highlight of the Duster nameplate.
Exterior Styling – Familiar Shape, Stronger Road Presence
The new-gen Duster maintains its rugged and muscular stance, and even under camouflage, the sharp lines, upright posture and chunky wheel arches stand out. Earlier spy shots had already revealed Y-shaped LED DRLs, polygonal headlamps and a distinctly sculpted front fascia.
The India-spec model is expected to feature redesigned alloy wheels, along with the characteristic boxy design elements that have always defined the Duster. The rear continues with a deeply raked windscreen, an upright tailgate and a revised bumper, though the final lamp design is still concealed under temporary units.
Interior and Tech – More Premium, More Feature-Rich
Based on earlier sightings, the India-spec Duster may receive a triple-screen dashboard layout, something not offered on the international model. Considering how quickly tech features influence buying decisions in India, Renault appears to be preparing a significantly upgraded cabin experience. Expected features include a 10.1-inch touchscreen, a 7-inch digital cluster, wireless smartphone connectivity, dual-zone climate control and OTA updates. Safety kit is likely to include 6 airbags, ESC and ADAS-based driver assistance functions.
